Spiral Creative Arts Therapy is excited to announce a new partnership with Dargavel Primary School, which will provide students with Art Therapy. These therapeutic sessions offered to young people to improve their wellbeing. This initiative is made possible thanks to the generous support from Hays Travel.
Head Teacher Gerry Carlton said, “The sessions are always well-organized and provide children with a calm and nurturing environment to develop their skills. The children are eager to showcase their artwork, which supports their achievements. We are very grateful to Spiral Arts Therapies and Hays Travel for subsidising this program, allowing our pupils to receive this valuable support.”
Children participating in the therapy sessions have shared their experiences:
“It’s my favourite time of the week. I love working in the group and doing things I wouldn’t normally do in class.”
“I get to sculpt things and do finger knitting. I enjoy the sessions as I can concentrate. Sometimes, I don’t say much, but I’m happy because I can focus on art.”
Angela Bialek, Founder and Director of Spiral Creative Arts Therapy, said, “Providing these opportunities to support young people is at the heart of what we do. Working with Gerry and Hays Travel, we have provided art materials, artists, and therapists to support children in need. Unfortunately, many children and young people across Scotland face long waiting times for therapeutic services. Thanks to Hays Travel's support, many young people were able to participate in the work that we provide, which enabled them to have access to therapeutic support.”
Toni Gibson, Head of Sales Operations and Community Initiatives at Hays Travel, added, “It is a privilege for us to have connected with Spiral. Supporting the wellbeing and opportunities of young people is at the heart of what we do and so the impact that this will have on the charity is a shining example of why it is so valuable.”
