Since Spiral Creative Arts Therapies was established in 2020, our focus has been on serving the kinship community in Glasgow. Over time, we've received enquiries about extending our services to young people in foster care. As a small charity, our funding was dedicated to supporting our primary users in kinship care. That is, until now.
Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund and the lottery players, Spiral Creative Arts Therapies has been granted £19,226. This funding will allow us to provide therapeutic arts support to a limited number of young people in foster care in Glasgow, using a modality of their choice, over the span of one year.
Spiral's Director, Angela Bialek, stated, 'Thanks to the lottery players, this funding will enable our charity to assist young people in the foster system who need Spiral's help and support. We know the impact of our work with young people in kinship care, and this will allow us to extend our support to more young people throughout Glasgow for the first time.'
